The western gorillas are quite lighter in color as compared to the eastern ones. The Western Lowland Gorillas have a reddish forehead and they can be found in light brown or grey body color. On the nose of western gorillas, there is a tip of overhanging which normally eastern gorillas do not have according to research and observations. The weight of a male western gorilla is about 140 to 270 kilograms and its height is found about 170 to 183 of centimeters.
Females of western gorillas are less weighted and about 60 to 120 kilograms and measuring height of about 140 to 155 centimeters. The cross river gorillas which are found very rare and only assumed to be around 100 to 200 are taller than western lowland gorillas. The height of cross river gorillas is about 10 to 15 centimeter longer and 15 to 20 kg more of weight than western lowland gorillas.
They used to climb more than those of eastern ones and also they are frugivorous which means that they are fruit eaters more. They eat about 100 fleshy fruits. The life of western gorilla is tough to understand and there family is smaller and mostly including 4 to 8 members of family.
There is more than 0.2 million of this specie discovered presently in the Republic of Congo which interests human to take interest in this animal more.
